Since 2009 I have served as Program Director for TAALK, a volunteer position. TAALK is a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation in OC and our mission is to break the silence that surrounds child sexual abuse and shift public consciousness from passive acceptance to the belief that “There is No Excuse for Sexual Abuse TM.”

“Darkness to Light Stewards of Children was a very informative and interactive training that was completely relevant to what we hold as our #1 priority at Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County – child safety.  Svava Brooks, the facilitator and trainer, was very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching our Program Specialists and Managers the “7 Steps to Protecting Our Children.”  Our staff is always interested in learning more about how to keep the children we serve safe from all types of abuse.  Svava’s presentation, which included individual workbooks for each participant, was stimulating to our staff and brought up great discussion amongst the group in the training.
It was highly beneficial and I would recommend it to other community based organizations who have vowed to keep children safe in the services they provide and in the community at large.”
Amy Benson, BBBS of SDC Program Director
